Thank you for choosing Rockhampton Counselling Services.

Our goal is to provide a safe, respectful and supportive environment where you can explore your concerns and work towards your personal goals. The following Terms & Conditions outline the responsibilities of both the client and Rockhampton Counselling Services. By booking or attending an appointment, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

Appointments

Appointments are available by prior booking only.

Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment. If you arrive late, your session may need to finish at the originally scheduled time to avoid delaying other clients.

Should Rockhampton Counselling Services need to reschedule an appointment, you will be contacted as soon as reasonably possible.

Cancellation & Missed Appointments

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice.

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or appointments where a client does not attend without notice, may incur the full consultation fee.

Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may affect future booking availability.

Fees & Payment

Payment is due at the time of your appointment unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in advance.

Fees are subject to change; however, any changes will be communicated before future appointments.

Outstanding accounts may result in future appointments being postponed until payment has been received.

Confidentiality

Your privacy is important to us.

Information discussed during counselling sessions will remain confidential except where disclosure is required or authorised by law, including situations where:

• there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or another person;
• there are concerns regarding the safety of a child or vulnerable person;
• records are subpoenaed by a court; or
• disclosure is otherwise required under Australian legislation.

Where appropriate, every effort will be made to discuss any necessary disclosure with you.

Privacy

Rockhampton Counselling Services collects and stores personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and applicable Australian privacy principles.

Your information is collected solely for the purpose of providing counselling services, maintaining accurate records, and meeting legal and professional obligations.

Personal information will not be shared with third parties without your consent unless required by law.

Counselling Services

Counselling is a collaborative process designed to support personal growth, wellbeing and decision-making.

While every effort is made to provide professional support, counselling outcomes vary between individuals, and no guarantees can be made regarding specific results.

Clients remain responsible for their own decisions and actions throughout the counselling process.

Emergency & Crisis Support

Rockhampton Counselling Services does not provide emergency or crisis intervention services.

If you believe you or another person is in immediate danger, call 000 immediately.

If you require urgent mental health support outside business hours, please contact your local hospital, mental health crisis service, or Lifeline on 13 11 14.

Communication

Email and telephone communications are intended for appointment scheduling and general enquiries.

Clinical advice and counselling cannot be provided via email or text message.

Responses to messages will be provided during normal business hours where possible.

Respectful Behaviour

Rockhampton Counselling Services is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all clients and staff.

Aggressive, abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in appointments being cancelled or future services being declined.

Changes to These Terms

Rockhampton Counselling Services reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The most current version will always be available on our website.

Acceptance

By booking or attending an appointment with Rockhampton Counselling Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
